Guess who's coming back? A little update from all of us here at Shine

So, it’s all been a bit crazy huh? And boy have we missed you. And from all your messages, it seems like you’ve missed us too. Hopefully you have managed to resist the urge to perform any drastic DIY styling or colouring while we’ve been out of action (step away from the box dye!), but whatever state your hair’s in, we just can’t wait to get our hands on it again!

And with that in mind, we’re delighted to announce that Shine is re-opening on 4th July and we are now able to take bookings for that date onwards (now known going forward as Hair-dependents day).

Things will of course be a little different when we re-open, to help keep you and our team safe. We’re lucky to have plenty of space and we’ve increased opening times (see below) so we are able to limit the amount of clients and staff we have in the salon at any one time. That way it will always feel empty, and all the team will also be wearing face masks.

To book an appointment please email us on salon@shinehairgroup.com, letting us know who you would like your appointment with and giving us a couple of different times that work for you. Once you’re booked in we’ll be in touch again before your appointment to arrange either an online consultation or just to chat through our new procedures and discuss any concerns you may have. But please be assured that we have spent this time away making rigorous plans to ensure everyone feels safe while they’re here.

We can’t wait to welcome you back and sort out those lockdown tresses. In the meantime, the gang wanted the chance to say hello.

Take care- and see you soon!

ADAM

Hello! During all this lovely weather I’ve been enjoying gardening, watching my chickens forage whilst painting their run and seeing all the beautiful flowers coming into bloom.
I've also read The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro, which is a mysterious tale of an elderly couple who set off across a troubled land in search of their long lost son. Ironically my hair and beard are completely out of control! I'm now looking forward to seeing all our lovely clients again, ready to tame your tangles and service your locks.

I’lll be working every other day during July including Sundays, and my first day is 5.7.20.

Hello everybody! Hope you’re all well and keeping safe! I've missed you all terribly and can't wait to go back to work.
I've taken this time to enjoy the sun on my balcony, go for long walks and of course learn essential survival skills… like doing my own nails and making my own sushi! I definitely feel ready to be stranded on a desert island now! I've also been baking pretty much every day and done a lot of pampering!
Luckily there's also been so much good TV to watch- After Life, Killing Eve, RuPaul's Drag Race (of course), Ash vs Evil Dead, Feel Good and yes, you guessed it, Tiger King!
I'm so grateful my husband is at home almost every day so I always have someone to argue with-I'm still Italian after all! And when he goes to work I just video call my mom, problem solved. I'm really looking forward to see everyone again soon- stay safe!

I'll be working every other day during July including Sundays, and my first day will be 4.7.20.

Hello lovely people! I've been spending the past few weeks enjoying this fantastic weather, with lots of nice walks with my dog Bee. I've also been making sushi-totally inspired by Veronica, and bao buns. The Pond and Moshi Mo are the first places I am visiting when we can!
I’ve read Adam Kay's latest book, and House of Glass is next on my list. Plenty of great TV too- Tiger King- obviously (Carol Baskin...she totally killed her husband), and I loved the new series of Ricky Gervais’s After Life. Race Across the World on BBC was brilliant too. Can’t wait to see you soon!

I'll be working every other day during July including Sundays, and my first day will be 4.7.20.

I have a two year old - so no sourdough starters or podcasts from me! As for a lot of parents my lockdown has been a little family bubble. I have tried to stay as present as possible and stay in the moment with my son, and in that way it's been a really grounding few months. Our garden has been the heart of everything, we built stick tee pees, used our fire pit, grew lots of flowers from nameless seed packets that have been hanging around for ages, added to our son's mud kitchen and built dens. Life has been super simple, veg boxes from 7 Dials Veg Box, vegan loveliness from Flour Pot Bakery (making Sunday mornings better) and coffee from Pharmacie Coffee Roasters. I've been listening to Grimes' latest album Miss Anthropocene, PJ Harvey's Songs From the City and Crystal Castles (II), in between doing all the weird and wonderful things that you do when you have a toddler!

I will be working on the following dates in July. 5, 9, 11, 17, 19, 23, 25, 31.

SAORI

I have been so lucky to have my lovely family here with me 24/7 (!) During the week I have been doing P.E. with  Joe each morning, and then lots of studying with my son. We’ve learnt about the Alcatraz Escape, and tackled long division and some algebra. Then at the weekend my husband and I have been catching up on the gardening and trying to keep things tidy. My husband is Italian and he’s bought a pizza cooker which cooks pizzas at 400 ℃, so we are practicing our pizza making skills, and today I also made some dumplings. So basially, there’s been lots of eating in this house! I am looking forward to hearing other people's stories when we return. Hope to see you all soon.

My first day back will be 4.7.20

I have walked, slept, read, watched all the Harry Potter films (for the first time, and 'not for me'), played music and made music. Apart from having stupid hair and still no DIY skills, lockdown has been kind.

I will be working every other day during July including Sundays, and my first day will be 4.7.20.
